Meet the Staff - Carol Crane Ph. D

Carol Crane, Ph.D., joined the Center in June 2007.  She specializes in neuropsychology and is a licensed clinical psychologist. As a neuropsychologist, Dr. Crane conducts comprehensive evaluations of children, adolescents, and adults to produce a well-defined profile of an individual’s competencies and challenges. Dr. Crane’s specific areas of interest include learning disabilities, attention disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and the impact on brain function of trauma and chronic medical conditions.

Dr. Crane earned her doctorate in clinical psychology at The Fielding Graduate University, and completed a pre-doctoral internship at John Umstead Hospital and the University of North Carolina Medical School, Neurology. She completed a two-year post graduate program in neuropsychology through The Fielding Graduate University, studying with Allan Mirsky, Ph.D.,NIMH Section Chief for Clinical and Experimental Neuropsychology.  Most recently, Dr. Crane completed post-graduate work with William R. Stixrud, Ph.D., a local, office based pediatric neuropsychologist . Dr. Crane was a guest researcher at NIMH, and her research on Synesthesia has been cited by Discover Magazine, Smithsonian Magazine, NPR (Diane Rehms Show, Pulse of the Planet), and CBS (60 Minutes II).
