Kevin S. Harrison,
M.D. joined the Center in 1996 and is currently serving as its
Director. He is a board certified general and child & adolescent
psychiatrist who sees children, adolescents, and adults. Dr.
Harrison specializes in the treatment of anxiety, attention,
learning, and mood disorders in children and adolescents as
well as school-based mental health consultation for general
and special education populations. He also provides psychiatric
medication consultation and second opinions.
Dr. Harrison completed his undergraduate education in psychology
at Loyola University in Baltimore in 1978 and his medical education
at George Washington University in 1991. His general psychiatric
training was divided between Duke and George Washington Universities
and his Fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry was
based at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Since
the completion of his training in 1996, Dr. Harrison has maintained
a busy office practice and has worked as a psychiatric consultant
for the Howard and Anne Arundel County Public School Systems
and to the special education students and staff at the Forbush
School in Baltimore County. He is an active teacher for the
University of Maryland Child & Adolescents Fellows and serves
in several regional leadership positions within the Academy
of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
