judy clifford, ph.D.

Judy Clifford, Ph.D. joined the Center in 2014. She is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Maryland and credentialed with the National Register of Health Service Providers. Dr. Clifford is skilled in the treatment of trauma, anxiety and mood disorders with special expertise in the treatment of chronic pain and chronic diseases and the influences that health behaviors have on psychological suffering as well as the impact physical illness/injury/disability have on emotional well-being. She provides individual, group and couples therapy for adolescents and adults.

Dr. Clifford completed her pre-doctoral internship at the VA Maryland Health Care System/University of Maryland, Baltimore Internship Consortium in 2005 and graduated with her doctorate in human services/clinical psychology from the University of Maryland Baltimore County later that same year. After graduating Dr. Clifford split her time between research consulting and clinical work at a domestic violence center. She is well versed both clinically and academically in the field of intimate partner violence and has presented on the subject nationally. She was also fortunate to work in post deployment health and PTSD at the Walter Reed Medical Center and the Pentagon. Her primary therapeutic approach utilizes positive psychology and combines the application of cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness based therapies.

Dr. Clifford is based in the Annapolis office. She is married and has two children.
