Shana Jones is a board certified Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC). She is dedicated to empowering others to reach their goals, gain independence, and achieve greater life satisfaction. This work has allowed her to assist children, adolescents, and adults in the treatment of anxiety, depression and mood disorders, substance abuse, low confidence, and emotional/behavioral disturbances due to abuse or neglect.
Shana graduated from The University of Maryland with a B.S. in psychology. She later went on to earn her Master’s degree (M.Ed) in counseling with a specialization in sport and performance psychology from Boston University. Shana is also passionate about youth sport, prompting her to choose an internship at Doc Wayne Youth Services, a non-profit organization providing sport-based mental health services to low-income youth in the Greater Boston area. Her experience also includes sport performance and mental health work with athletes at The University of Maryland and community mental health work with individuals in Anne Arundel County. More information about Shana’s performance work can be found on the Maryland Sports Performance website. When she is not working Shana can be found spending time with family, trying new local restaurants, or reading a good book.
