Briana Riemer, MD

Briana Riemer joined MCP in 2022 and is a board certified adult psychiatrist who treats adults between the ages of 18 and 60. She works with individuals across a broad range of psychiatric diagnoses and places a strong emphasis on providing thoughtful, holistic care. Her clinical specialties include the treatment of depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety disorders, with particular interests in women’s mental health, addiction, and the integration of behavioral and lifestyle interventions into treatment.

She earned her undergraduate degree from the College of William and Mary and completed her medical education at the New York University School of Medicine in 2009. Her residency training was completed through the University of Maryland and Sheppard Pratt combined program in 2013, where she gained extensive experience in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care.

Following residency, her work continued within the Sheppard Pratt Health System, where her clinical practice was anchored in the Adult Crisis Stabilization inpatient psychiatric unit. She later served as Service Chief, providing leadership and oversight in a setting focused on supporting individuals experiencing acute psychiatric crises related to anxiety, depression, addiction, psychosis, and trauma related disorders. This work fostered particular expertise in the treatment of refractory mood disorders.

Her advanced training includes experience in electroconvulsive therapy, with significant involvement in performing and managing patients receiving this treatment. She has also received training in transcranial magnetic stimulation. Additional clinical experience includes crisis evaluation services, partial hospitalization programs, and teaching roles with psychiatric residents and medical students.

Dr. Riemer lives locally with her husband and children. Outside of the office, she enjoys reading, travelling, cooking and history.
