Child, Adolescent & Adult Psychiatry
Caroline Poblete joined MCP in 2001 and is board certified in both general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. She provides psychiatric care for children, adolescents, and adults, with particular expertise in treating anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, and attention disorders in children and teenagers. Her work also includes extensive experience in school based mental health consultation.
She earned her undergraduate degree from Hood College in 1988 and completed her medical education at the University of Virginia in 1992. Her general psychiatry residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship were both completed at the University of Maryland in Baltimore. Following her training, she spent three years working at a community mental health clinic operated by the University of Maryland’s Department of Psychiatry.
Dr. Poblete maintains her schedule at MCP and also serves as a psychiatric consultant for several schools in Howard and Anne Arundel Counties. Through close collaboration with educators and families, she supports student mental health and academic success across settings.

Dr. Poblete’s approach is collaborative, developmentally informed, and grounded in evidence based psychiatric care. Thoughtful evaluation, clear communication, and individualized treatment planning are central to her work, with careful attention to each patient’s emotional, academic, and family context.
When working with children and adolescents, she partners closely with families and schools to promote consistency and meaningful progress. The focus of her care is to help patients better understand their symptoms, strengthen coping skills, and achieve improved functioning and overall well being.
