Clinical and Mental Performance Counselor

Kelly Weins is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Maryland, a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC), and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). Kelly graduated from Susquehanna University with a B.S. in Psychology, and then from Springfield College with a M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a focus on Athletic Counseling.

Kelly specializes with athletes and with individuals in high stress and performance fields. She is passionate about supporting individuals by helping them develop skills to cope with and manage life’s stressors. She strives to support you in better understanding your symptoms while feeling more in control, and helping you to prioritize your own wellbeing to build the life you want.

Kelly’s therapeutic approach is holistic, collaborative, and integrative, with a belief that we all have the ability to develop and achieve our goals with a little support. She strives to help bring awareness to the patterns you’ve developed and the voice in your head that may no longer be positively supporting your goals. Her strengths-based approach may incorporate factors from theories such as Person-Centered, Solution-Focused and Cognitive Behavioral.

Kelly seeks to create and maintain a warm, inviting, and safe environment where sessions are tailored to meet both your current and future needs. She strives to support you with anxiety, life changes, perfectionism, stress management challenges, and more.

In her personal life, Kelly is artistic and loves the outdoors. She finds peacefulness in creating a new artistic piece, and adventure in hiking a new trail. She incorporates her professional training and her personal experiences to help her patients navigate their own journeys, and would love the opportunity to help you define your journey.
