Sports Mental Performance Consultant
Kelly Weins is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant who specializes in helping athletes strengthen the mental side of their sport so they can perform at their best. Her work often focuses on improving focus skills, managing stress and pressure, building confidence, sustaining motivation, and developing mental resilience. She takes a holistic approach, recognizing that athletic performance is influenced not only by training and competition, but also by life stressors, relationships, identity, and overall well being.
Growing up as a multi sport athlete, her own athletic journey included diving, soccer, dance, and horseback riding before finding her primary passion in gymnastics, which she pursued through the end of high school. In college, she competed in diving and participated on the club crew team. Through years of training, injuries, and setbacks, she developed a deep appreciation for the mental demands of sport and discovered a passion for supporting other athletes as they navigate both the highs and lows of athletic and personal life.
She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Susquehanna University and went on to complete a Master of Education in Counseling with a concentration in Athletic Counseling at Springfield College. She later obtained her Certified Mental Performance Consultant credential through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology.
Her professional experience includes working with high school and collegiate athletes both individually and in team settings. She has supported athletes across a wide range of sports, including gymnastics, track and field, cross country, tennis, basketball, soccer, football, hockey, and lacrosse. She also has particular experience working with athletes recovering from injury, helping them cope with setbacks, maintain motivation, and navigate periods away from competition.
